This blog is to document my spiritual journey. Spirituality and religion has always been a part of my life. I grew up Southern Baptist and broke from the church around the age of 14. Through my teenage years I studied different religions, but once I got to college I ‘converted’ back to Christianity, specifically Charismatic, Evangelical Christianity. I stayed there for a number of years, but I suppose I never converted at the ‘heart’ level. After a few years I realized that I actually didn’t believe most of it and have since struggled to either make myself believe/fit or feeling secretly rebellious.
About a year ago I began a concerted effort to find what I truly believed. It’s been a convoluted path, full of stops and starts, and at the moment it’s on the hot plate boiling away. I lean towards ‘paganism’ (whatever that is… :)) and am interested in…well…lots: archetypes and how they relate to god/goddesses, folklore, folk magic, green/kitchen/cottage/hedge witchery, religious history, meditation, etc. I have a strong sense of place and nature, so I suppose that’s one reason that I lean towards so-called ‘earth-based’ religions.
I’m in the process of severing ties with big-label Christianity, and it’s…slow.
So that brings you up to date on the blog! I hope you enjoy and drop me a line if you have any questions or comments.
